Palta III

Race-day speed and go-anywhere durability, without picking one over the other. Palta III is Basso's third-generation gravel platform, built to carry you from a fast tarmac approach straight into the roughest trail — you decide where the line is.

Since 2018, Palta has stood apart by refusing to specialize. Palta III sharpens that philosophy further: greater lateral stiffness for explosive power, refined aerodynamics to cut through the wind, and deeper compliance to smooth out the harshest gravel.

The Frame

At 970g (size M), Palta III is the lightest frame Basso's gravel line has ever produced. The carbon layup was reworked to sharpen power transfer and handling, while lessons from Basso's road bike aerodynamics program cut frontal impact area by 18%. Whether you're chasing a podium or deep into a weekend adventure, that efficiency saves your energy for when the smooth gravel ends.

The Cockpit

Palta III offers three cockpit options to match your riding style.

Strato Stem & Carbon Gravel Handlebar

Built for comfort and technical gravel handling. Full-carbon handlebar with 12° flare and 122mm drop, available in 4 sizes. Stem set at -8°, available in 6 sizes.

Fuga

An integrated handlebar optimized for an aero position and narrower-shouldered riders. 300g, with a short 65mm reach.

Levita

For riders who prefer a more classic cockpit geometry. 330g, available in 10 stem/handlebar width combinations.

Invisible Storage. Visible Resilience.

Palta III features internal downtube storage, housing two dedicated bags secured by a color-matched carbon cover and a Fidlock magnetic locking system. Everything stays rattle-free and out of sight, so your tools and essentials travel with you without disrupting the frame's clean lines.

Vibram × Basso

Protecting the Frame from the Trail

Developed in collaboration with Italian rubber specialist Vibram, this custom bash guard mounts to the underside of the down tube, shielding your frame from rock strikes on rough gravel terrain.

Apidura × Basso

A bespoke bag collection co-developed with bikepacking specialist Apidura, engineered specifically for Palta III's tube shapes. Bolt-on mounting keeps everything secure without straps that can wear through your frame's paint.

The Apidura × Basso bag collection is designed exclusively for Palta III — engineered specifically around its tube shapes and mounting points. Available only as an add-on when ordering a Palta III bike or frame kit (not sold separately, and not designed to fit other Basso models).
